 Q & A

Wolverhampton Wanderers

1. Who has been the biggest influence for you?

(On the playing side, and also off the pitch)

Biggest influence for me would be my dad. He was a player himself so growing up, football was always something I wanted to do and follow in his footsteps.

2. What advice would you give players coming into the game?

Don’t take anything for granted, make sure you aways work hard. Hard work pays off! And also to express yourself and have fun whenever you play.

3. Are there players that you’ve styled yourself on?

Growing up as a centre back used to like watching Rio Ferdinand and also Ledley King. Ever since I’ve started playing right back I’ve focused on players in that position such as Kyle Walker, Nathaniel Clyne and Seamus Coleman.

4. Who is the best player you’ve played with and against?

First season when I broke into the Wolves first team. I would say Bakary Sako, he was a constant threat for us and in his day he was unplayable. Some of the stuff he used to do in training was outrageous! Played against I would say Ighalo a few years back, he came on during the second half and from what I remember he caused us a lot of problems.

5. How do you prepare before each game?

Pretty relaxed in the changing room, put my headphones on and listen to some good music. I like to stretch before games so I normally spend a little bit of time doing that. Like to head out to games as relaxed and focused as I can be.

6. Which team did you support as a youngster?

When I was very young started off supporting Man United, don’t know the reason why must of been just because someone else in my family did! As I started to get a little bit older and start to watch and understand football, my interest went to Tottenham so been with them ever since lol.

7. How do you find social media for players?

It can be good, it enables you to interact with the fans which can build a connection between fans and players. Also it allows you to promote anything you set up.

8. What rule would you change in football if you could?

I would say the way you get a yellow card if you take off your top when you score or if you jump into the crowd. Scoring a goal such a great feeling so you should be able to celebrate as you wish.

9. What is your favourite music?

I would say r&b/hiphop, artists like Chris Brown, Drake, Kanye West etc. Still listen to other types of music too, so have a little bit of time for house and mainstream music.

10. What is you r favourite fashion brand?

Wouldn’t say I have one particular brand that I like the most. If you was to look in my wardrobe you would see a whole load of different brands!

11. Who are the players we should be looking out for in the future?

There is a lot of good players coming through at the moment. Ademola Lookman looked a good player when we played against Charlton last season. There’s some real good talent coming through at Wolves too. Conor Ronan and Morgon Gibbs White two young players at the club with massive potential.

12. How are you finding the England set-up at the different age groups?

First came into the setup as a part of the U18 squad where we only had a few friendlies in that season, and now a member of the U21s. It’s been good so far we won the Toulon tournament which was great. The team we have in the under 21s is really good, so now in a few months we have the Euros championships. Should be a great tournament to play in, hopefully one we can win.

12. If you weren’t playing in England what country would you like to play in?

I would say Spain, its one of the best leagues to watch in the world and also Playing at the Bernabéu or the Camp Nou would be a dream come true.
