Q & A

1. How do you find the step up to the championship?

The step up to the championship has been exciting. I’ve loved going to all the stadiums and experiencing the atmosphere at the different grounds especially our home games. In terms of the football its a lot harder, the defending is a lot better so its harder to get chances and it’s very intense so you have to make sure you’re always sharp but I think the style of football is more suited to me so I’ve enjoyed it.

2. Who has been the biggest influence for you?

The biggest influence for me would be my dad who has always pushed me in the right direction and gave me the discipline I needed to have the right attitude to progress like I have. I’ve been fortunate to have loads of positive people in my life who have influenced me in a positive way.

3. What advice would you give players coming into the game ?

The main advice is of course to work hard because there are so many players out there trying to do the same as you with the same goal so you need to make sure you’re working harder than them so you get a head start. I would also say to self analyse and make sure you always know what areas you need to improve on so you have more tools to your trade because its all about the job you can do for the team so the more you have in your locker the more likely you will progress.

4. Are there players that you’ve styled yourself on?

I wouldn’t say I’ve styled myself on a particular player but I always watch players who play similar position to me and try to pick up little tips from their game to try and add to mine.

5. Who is the best player you’ve played with and against?

I would say the best player I’ve played against was Dimitri Payet. It was a preseason friendly when he first joined West Ham and I didn’t know much about him before the game and he scored two and was unreal and then he went on to be one of the best in the prem that season and one of the players of the Euros! The best player I’ve played with is Aaron Mooy. He has that that class where it looks like everything is in slow motion when he has the ball, no one can get close to him.

6. Are you superstitous before games

I’m not really superstitious before a game but I obviously like to get a good night’s sleep and make sure I eat well, especially a lot of carbs.

7. Which team did you support as a youngster?

As a youngster I supported west ham as they are my local premier league club but I’ve never followed them heavily.

8. How do you find social media for players?

I think social media can be good for players it’s a good way to communicate with fans and for fans to get to learn more about the players. But sometimes i don’t think its good as you can’t post what you like because you will be judged.

9. What rule would you change in football if you could?

I don’t really know if I would change any rules to be honest, maybe players aren’t allowed to sign to agent until they become professional because at a young age players can be taken advantage of and promised things that are unrealistic but would believe it at a young age

10. What is your favourite fashion brand

I’m not really into fashion so not too sure what my favourite brand is I wear a lot of tracksuits especially Adidas.

11. What is your favourite music?

I like loads of music would say I mainly like hip hop especially Drake and J Cole. I also like a lot of london artists.

12. Is there anything you would change in football?

Only thing I would change in football is the rules on agents. I think as a young player, it’s hard to know which agent to choose, especially when you’re young. I am fortunate that I have a great agent now, but I must admit, there are more safeguards needed for players – especially young players and their parents!
