Watches of Switzerland open Rolex  Boutique in London Heathrow Terminal 2.

Watches of Switzerland is delighted to announce the opening of a new Rolex boutique in London Heathrow Terminal 2. Owned and managed by the Watches of Switzerland team, the store will be the retailer’s third Rolex boutique within the airport, bringing its showroom portfolio up to an impressive total of five in London Heathrow alone.

The opening, due to take place on the 8th March, is the latest development in Watches of Switzerland’s ambitious expansion project. The re-opening of the Knightsbridge boutique last year completed the West End’s Golden Triangle with stores on both Oxford Street and Regent Street and the prestigious Rolex boutique on Old Bond Street has recently closed for refurbishment with a reopening also scheduled for Spring this year.

Rolex remains the most sought-after luxury Swiss watch brand and one of the most recognised brands in the world. It was founded in 1905 in London by Hans Wilsdorf and moved to Geneva in 1919. Throughout its history, the company has been at the forefront of watchmaking technology. In 1926, the Rolex Oyster became the first water-resistant watch; in 1953, the Rolex Submariner became the first watch water-resistant to 100 metres; in 1985 Rolex became the first to introduce 904L steel into watchmaking; and most recently, Rolex became the first watch company to offer a five-year warranty and extended service intervals on all its new watches.
